We love to cook at home when in Orkney, our self catering shopping recommendations are :

Deerness Stores is a 10 - 15 minute walk and open every day. Stocking a large range of household goods and Orkney produce including local meat, fish, eggs, bread, cakes and seasonal vegetables. The stores are also an off license stocking a good range of wines and beers including Orkney beers and spirits.

In Kirkwall you can find excellent Orkney produce at The Brig delicatessan , Argos bakery and Donaldsons butchers. You can buy health and wholefoods at William Shearer and Bruce's Stores is our favourite general grocer in town.  There's a co-op on the street that's open until 10pm every night and also a Lidl and a Tesco on Pickaquoy Road.
